Robert Hingley, 1964-2020
Rob is irreplaceable.
Such a force of nature that sparkled from his eyes to his string strumming fingertips. We were like siblings. A family of few. But more than a few, because our extended family is you, all our friends.
Nothing looked as beautiful as the Hingers smile. It radiated when we played together on stage and even more as we danced and partied after a gig. Embracing. Laughing. Until the small hours of the morning. Rob was the master hugger. It was always there in the hello and goodbye. That smile of his would sparkle when we met up for rehearsals. Playing music with your best friends is a wonderful feeling. We wanted to play and perform. We needed to. It became so very important. We laughed ourselves silly, we cried and we poured our hearts out to each other. No matter what life threw at us. We picked each other up. We became a family by choice. We chose him because we loved him. We loved him so much. We loved his friends. They became our family too.
We love you Rob "Hingers". You will always be part of us. You beautiful, hilarious, sensitive incredible man.

It was almost impossible to contemplate the future of the band without the beating heart of Rob Hingley.
But play again we will, not only because we must, but because we know it is what Rob would tell us to do. So although we can't yet know what form our future will take, you can be sure there will be one.
For now, thank you for the good times, and thank you for sharing the joy.
So much love, from
