Album Launch Night
We held our album launch party at AlleyCat in Denmark Street on Thursday 2 November. A pretty darn stellar lineup joined us!
Flying Tailor - Hyperactive sweet dreams: modern introspective folk with touches of trip hop. They threw themselves headlong into their performance and their powerful sound left the audience agog. Keyboards, violins, guitars, groovy bass and passionate vocals - the audience was left with nowhere to go but to danceland, or simply to stand and admire.
The Squares - Spontaneous and charged art pop, folk and blues. "Really good", said Gideon Coe when he heard it, and well he might; rocking riffs from Nick's guitar and Matt's inventive rhythms contrast with Caroline's moments of vocal majesty that brought the room to a spellbound halt.
Money and Family - Our synthy swoon-pop duo brought a welcome suggestion of electro to the party. Their inventive mix of guitar and keyboards directed a collection of cleverly crafted songs and set the level of creativeness for the night come.
No Direction - Trio of guitar, banjo and cajon in their first gig performance. They brought authentic folk sounds and a confident, homespun performance. One to watch, here!
And DJ Sam Hammond - basically spun our dream playlist, served as our backstage master of ceremonies, kept the sound on-track... our dream DJ and a consummate pro. Sound guardian of the night.
